17-year old David Opeteyibo has constructed what could be Nigeria’s first locally made drone, reports from the Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu, reveal.
David led a team of students in developing an unmanned air vehicle (UAV) that hopefully, can be deployed for security surveillance. The drone, a hybrid mix of existing drone components and locally fabricated material, seems to fly normally, however it looks to require a lot of improvements for it to be commercialised.
The drone, at the moment, can last 15 minutes in the air and can fly a maximum altitude of 2000ft
