Ahmed Doko Ibrahim (41) is Nigeria’s youngest university professor

In the 472nd meeting of the Senate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 2015, the professorship of Ahmed Doko Ibrahim was approved, making Professor Ahmed Doko Ibrahim the youngest professor the country has ever produced.

Born in 1974 at Doko town, Niger state, Professor Doko attended North Primary School, Doko between 1979 and 1985, Government Secondary School, Doko and Ahmadu Bello University Demonstration Secondary School from ’85 to ’91.

He began his university education in  1991 at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he obtained his Bachelors’ Degree (Quantity Surveying, 1998), then joined the university’s teaching staff as an assistant lecturer in the department of quantity surveying in 2000.

Doko proceeded to King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia, in 2001, where he obtained his Masters degree (Construction engineering and management, 2003), and PhD (Loughborough University, United Kingdom, 2007).

Professor Doko served as head of department, Quantity Surveying, ABU, Zaria, from 2008 to 2012.
